Introducing

Bill Harrigan
ITFF Chairman

I have been involved with Oztag almost from its inception. Perry Haddock had me look over the rules of the game when he first put it all together. In 1998 I worked one day a week co-ordinating referee courses and recruiting referees. In 2003 I was appointed CEO and remained in that position until handing the role back to Perry in 2007 due to my NRL commitments. I remained in the role of Tournament Organiser/Director which I still currently hold. I was a Police Officer from 1979 to 1996 resigning as a sergeant to take on a fulltime career as a first grade referee. My first grade career spanned some 17 years refereeing 393 first grade games, 10 grand finals, 21 state of origins and 25 test matches. I’m currently the NRL Referee’s Head Coach with Stuart Raper. I love rugby league and Oztag, the non-tackling version of rugby league. The popularity of the sport continues to increase significantly and I look forward to serving as the elected chairman of the ITFF.
