TAG WORLD CUP IS FINALLY HERE!!

Hi all, Its almost showtime as we are about to kick off the FIRST inaugural ITFF Tag Football World Cup. A massive effort from all our loyal tag community from the initial planning stages through to now has been a monumental effort culminating in what will be our biggest ever tag event staged in New Zealand. Good Luck to all the Nations participating next week.


First ITFF World Cup of Tag Football in Auckland 5-8 December 2012
The first ever ITFF World Cup of Tag Football 2012 is just days away and Game On!
More than 2000 Tag football players will head to North Harbour Stadium, Auckland for the
Inaugural International Tag Football Federation (ITFF) World Cup of Tag Football 2012, 5-8
December 2012.

With just a week to go, 105 teams, in 16 grades from 15 nations will battle it out on 13 fields in
the 3-day tournament to find the best.
It’s the first major event international event to promote the sport of Tag Football hosted by the
International Tag Football Federation (ITFF) in association with New Zealand Tag Football
Incorporated (NZTFI) and Oz Tag Australia.

Teams from Australia, Australia Indigenous, New Zealand, New Zealand Maori, Great Britain,
Ireland, Lebanon, Malta, Japan, Cook Islands, Fiji, Niue, Samoa, Tokelau, Tonga, for the 3 day
competition aimed at raising the profile of Tag Football internationally.
The official opening ceremony starts Wednesday evening, 5th December 2012 at North Harbour
Stadium but the real games kick off at 8am Thursday 6th December and ends with the finals
clash on Saturday 8th December.

Tag Football has been huge in Australia with OzTag Austalia claiming more than
200,000 players. Tag football in New Zealand has grown annually over the past
four years under NZ Tag Football Inc (NZTFI) with more than 6000 players playing
similar Oztag rules and holds regular Trans-Tasman competitions, NZ nationals and
school competitions.

Dates to note: Opening Ceremony: Wednesday 5 December 2012
Day 1 – Thursday 6 December 2012 – Official start of games
Day 2 – Friday 7 December 2012 – Games continue
Day 3 Saturday 8 December 2012 – Finals Day
